United First Parish Church

UFPC Image
United First Parish Church (Church of the Presidents) UFPC has kindly provided us with office space at nominal rent since 2004. Although we are an independent organization and are not affiliated with the church, they support our work whole-heartedly! We share the building with a vibrant array of other community activities. It is also the final resting place of two of our most famous presidents – John Adams and John Quincy Adams.

Visit www.ufpc.org for more information on this historic building.

better world books logo
Better World Books is an online bookseller that produces “social capital.” A percentage of the profits made on books sold on our behalf are returned to PBP to fund our postage costs. Because the number of prisoners we can help is limited only our ability to pay the postage to mail the books. Every $3 we raise lets us help another prisoner.

Big Hearted Books logo
Big Hearted Books collects unwanted books and other media and redistributes them to people who can use them. For various reasons we cannot use every book that is donated to us. Big Hearted Books sorts through the donations we give to them in order to find their best use. Items are then sold or donated to various community groups that can use them. In their first year of business Big Hearted Books kept over 100 tons of books out of landfills by recycling.

Lucy Parsons Logo
The Lucy Parsons Center is an independent, non-profit, radical bookstore and community space in Boston. The center is run by dedicated volunteers who contribute their time to keeping the Center open. The Lucy Parsons Center has a well-stocked bookstore with new and used books and more than 200 magazines, newspapers, and journals, covering every wing of the progressive movement. Most prisons only allow books to be sent to prisoners from bookstores and other vendors. In order to send books into prisons, programs like the Prison Book Program need to be affiliated with bookstores. The Lucy Parsons Center is kind enough to provide us with their support.
